Starting the day in ideal weather

Today I said goodbye to my wife and hosts and continued my journey south. I had quite a long route to cover, which would take the whole day.

The drive was very scenic. Norwegian nature is simply breathtaking. Mountains, fjords and lakes alternate with forests, meadows and bushes. The temperature was high today, it was 23 degrees when I set off in the morning and it rose to 29 degrees, and I even saw some people sunbathing and swimming. The roads got much better the further south I went. They were also more winding than in the north, so I had more fun driving.

Ferry ride with Stefan

On the way I had to take a ferry and there I met Stefan from Germany on his old-timer BMW GS 800. He told me that he came to Norway last year with his family and was so fascinated that he wanted to come on a motorcycle too. Travelling with and old-timer is adventure on its own!

Today's ride was really beautiful. I arrived just before 11 pm, checked-in in the hotel and went to bed soon afterwards to be ready for the next day. It was still light outside.

I drove 668 km today and the total counter stopped at 6 636 km.

Crossing the Arctic Circle

It was 9:30 pm and I had some 45 minutes to my destination when I crossed the Arctic Circle. I made a short stopover at the Visitor's Center there and then continued my trip.
