Mostar

My next stop was Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina. That meant a fairly long day's drive from Žabljak in Montenegro. The weather was improving. There was little traffic and the roads allowed higher speeds, so I made good progress. I drove past Lake Bileća, which is very scenic but with a lot of garbage along the road, making the experience less pleasant.

I made some stops along the way, like this one at the entrance to Republika Srpska, the Serbian ethnic part of Bosnia and Hezegovina.

When I arrived in Mostar in the afternoon, it was sunny and very hot. I quickly took in a few sights and then drove on to my destination for the day: Medjugorje, a place of pilgrimage for Catholics.
