Another rainy day
Before leaving Førde, I booked a hotel in Bergen. It was still raining outside, and the forecast was that it would continue to rain until late afternoon. I was able to stay in the hotel until midday and then set off on my route for today. The temperature was 14 degrees Celsius, but as I had all my rain gear on, it wasn’t cold. After about an hour's ride, the rain was not as heavy and eventually stopped. The last 45 minutes of the ride were dry.
I had to take a ferry, where I met a motorcyclist from Ålesund on his Ducati Multistrada 1260 who was on his way to Spain. The climate will be very different there, I think. I also met an elderly couple – probably over 70 years old – from Austria who were riding on their Honda NX 750 through southern Norway.
Arriving to Bergen
When I arrived in Bergen, I found the address of the hotel, but the door was locked and you could only open it with the keypad and the code. So I called the hotel's contact number and they told me that they had several hotels and that I had to come to the office at another address first to pick up the key. So I went there to get the key. There was another motorcyclist where I arrived and we walked back part of the way together. He told me that he was from Poland. He had been to Slovenia before and told me where the best motorcycle routes in Poland were if I ever came to Poland.
Then I arrived at the hotel. I was very impressed with the room. It overlooked one of the cobbled streets of the town opposite the big church. There was even a parking space for my bike across the street. The room had a fully equipped kitchen and a desk. Perfect! It was within walking distance of the city center with the famous Bryggen houses. I had a look around the city, took a few photos and then returned to the hotel. It was cloudy but dry and the temperature was around 19 degrees Celsius.

Today’s route was 171 km long and the trip counter stopped at 7 968 km.
