Day 33: From München to home

Morning in München

In the morning we drove to the church in the München suburbs where the international ward meets. Two wards share this church building and there is a special hall where cultural events can take place and which can also be used as a basketball court where the young people can play basketball during their activities.

Around midday we returned to Zorneding, had lunch together and then I sat down on the KaTie Mine and set off on the last section of this journey. The weather was sunny and hot. There were some heavy traffic jams in southern Germany. You have a big advantage on a motorcycle because you can squeeze through between the queues of cars.

In Austria, the traffic flowed smoothly. The chain on my drivetrain was getting a bit loose, so I didn't overdo it with the acceleration. I had meant to tighten it in Germany, but somehow forgot.

By now I've gotten used to long ride times, so the route wasn't that long today. The feeling was a little strange as I approached the Slovenian border. I almost couldn't comprehend that I had already been on the road for a month and had covered such a long distance.

I have roughly estimated that I must have driven through more than a hundred tunnels on this journey. The Karawanken tunnel between Austria and Slovenia was the first and the last.

I arrived home shortly after 8 p.m., before it got dark outside.

Today’s distance was 463 km, and the total distance of this journey amounted to 10,517 km.
