My next stop was Sjenica, a town in southern Serbia. The large number of small mosques shows that the inhabitants are predominantly Muslim. It had rained heavily the day before and the water ran into the cellar of the hotel where I was staying. The damage was quite extensive.
The reason for my stay in Sijenica was the nearby Uvac Gorge with its winding river and various ecological habitats.
To get to the viewpoint shown in the picture above, I had to drive on local roads, which then turned into dirt roads and then into a forest path, where only off-road vehicles can drive. My motorcycle can handle such roads, so I was able to get quite close and only had about 45 minutes of walking on the path, where all vehicles are prohibited. It was also quite hot. But when I got to the viewpoint, all the effort paid off.
